Fire Station improvements
The Snow Shoe fire station was built in 1906. As times change and the United States roads and infrastructure grew, so did the demand for larger fire trucks. Our current doors are 10'x10' with only an inch on each side of the mirrors when the apparatus is leaving. This is a safety hazzard and can negatively affect our response time. The solution we have decided on is to reduce the amount of doors from 4 to 2, by removing two columns and installing two 24' doors. The estimated cost of this project is $25,000.
Snow Shoe Fire Company wants to improve the outdoor space in front of the fire station by adding a pavilion, more picnic tables, seating for future fundraisers and an extra area for people who rent the social hall.
